Mar 11, 2020In the coming days and weeks, you may see local firefighters and paramedics responding to calls wearing extra protective measures – like masks, goggles, and disposable gowns - if they respond to a patient with a respiratory illness. This proactively protects first responders and the community.
Use of this equipment does not mean the patient has COVID-19. Rather, first responders are wearing protective gear because they don’t always know the health conditions of patients in advance. With a few confirmed cases of Coronavirus in neighboring communities, first responders are taking these extra protective measures to keep everyone healthy.
