Sedro-Woolley, EDASC Providing $50,000 in Grant Funding to Small Businesses

SEDRO-WOOLLEY – EDASC on behalf of the City of Sedro-Woolley is now accepting grant applications worth $5,000 each supporting small businesses impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak.

The grant opportunity is provided by the City of Sedro-Woolley through CARES Act funding. EDASC is administering the grant.

“It has been a challenging time for our community, and especially for our small businesses,” said Sedro-Woolley Mayor Julia Johnson. “In response, the City through funding received from the CARES Act is proud to offer ten grants up to $5,000 each to small businesses that have been impacted by the pandemic.”

The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. July 10, and a total of $50,000 is available.

To be eligible to apply, you must own a brick and mortar business within Sedro-Woolley city limits and employ 10 or fewer employees. Non-profit organizations and home-based businesses are excluded from eligibility for these grants.

Eligible grant expenses include consulting, marketing, and training, as well as for operational expenses including rent, supplies/inventory, utility bills, etc.

EDASC will prioritize applications based on severity of the impact the business is facing, including from being forced to close by government-mandated closures, social distancing measures or illness. Awards will be approved on a case-by-case basis and are dependent on the availability of funds.
