Remembering Northern State

Aug 12, 2022
The Port of Skagit County, the Skagit County Historical Museum, and the Sedro-Woolley Museum are proud to present their first public history preservation event at Northern State to gather oral histories and stories from the people who worked, lived at, or have connections with the hospital.

Share your memories...
Schedule a short appointment on August 12 or 13 to record your memories with museum volunteers, who will ask simple questions about what you remember about Northern State and make a recording. We want to preserve these memories! To make an appointment, call the Skagit County Historical Museum at (360) 466-3365.Can't come August 12 or 13? Call to setup a separate session.

Honor the names...
Write a name on the memory wall, to honor those who lived at Northern State.

Bring your artifacts...
Have an object or item connected to the hospital? Museum volunteers will be taking photos of artifacts. Bring your item to share, and take it home with you again.

Scan your photos...
Have photos of Northern State from years gone by? Bring your photos to the event! Museum volunteers will carefully scan your photos, record the story behind them, and return them to you.

Take a self-guided tour...
Enjoy an outdoor self-guided walking tour of Hub Drive, with a booklet detailing the history and function of the buildings.

Volunteer...
The museums are accepting applications for volunteers to assist with the event. Contact Ann Skupniewitz-Maroney,
