Upcoming State Street Pavement and Utility Improvements Project

September 24, 2018

The City of Sedro-Woolley is moving forward with this project to overlay portions of W State and State Streets. Work in West State Street will be between the south side of the BNSF tracks at SR 20 east to Maple Street. Work in State Street will be between Rita Street and the Post Office alley just west of Metcalf Street and between Third Street and Puget Street. The overlay work will include pavement edge grinding and some dig out areas along with curb ramp replacements and installation of new curb ramps.

In addition to the overlay related work, the project will include upgrading PUD No. 1 of Skagit County’s water lines in State Street between Walley Street and Third Street, and in Eastern Street from State Street to Woodworth Street.

The general contractor, SRV Construction of Anacortes, will start with the waterline upgrades the week of September 24th. The State Street work will be along the south side of the road with crossings at Metcalf Street and at the alley behind the Woolley Market. Sections of the sidewalk will be removed to facilitate new service lines to existing meters. Parking in the work zone will blocked off. Also expect block by block road closures with detours. The work on Eastern Street will be along the east side of the road with a crossing at State Street.

Work related to the overlay portions will begin in a couple of weeks. Additional notices will be provided as work progresses.
