Parks & Recreation

Important Notices

The City is currently in Phase 2 of Washington’s Safe Start Plan. This means that City Parks, Playgrounds, and Sports Courts are officially open! In an effort to ensure the safety of our community, we are unable to reopen picnic shelters, the Community Center, and Senior Center at this time. While taking advantage of our City’s recreational opportunities, please maintain social distancing of at least 6 feet and refrain from congregating in groups larger than 5 people.

Please visit https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/daily-life-coping/visitors.html for safety guidelines related to visiting parks & recreation facilities.

Would you like to give a gift that would last forever?

Ever wanted to memorialize or honor a loved one, or someone special in your life? An inscribed brick paver
placed permanently in the beautiful walkway of Sedro-Woolley's Hammer Heritage Square is the answer!

What We Do

As part of the Sedro-Woolley Public Works Operation Division, the Parks and Recreation Unit takes great pride in maintaining the City's park system, Union Cemetery and other open spaces. We also provide maintenance and custodial services for the Municipal Building, Community Center, Senior Center, Public Library and Police/Fire facilities. We provide much of the roadside mowing within city limits and supply and/or maintain the beautiful flower baskets displayed around the city.
